Known across Anglesey for her dedication to communities across the island, from helping to find, and prevent, lost pets – to helping people through her Facebook group – Anglesey Freebay.
Upon being nominated Gillian said :

The Prime Minister Rishi Sunak joined me on Anglesey to celebrate the success of our Anglesey Freeport bid- Porthladd rhydd Ynys Môn.

Anglesey is now a Freeport
Today is a brilliant day for Ynys Môn and the start of its renaissance.
The investment and jobs that await freeport status will transform lives and lead to thousands of high-quality jobs so our young do not have to leave.

I have mentioned Anglesey Freeport over 30 times in the chamber - I am determined to bring new jobs and investment to Ynys Môn.
Yesterday I asked the Treasury Minister the following:

I am always immensely proud when people tell me that Ynys Môn now has a strong voice in the House of Commons.
I am working hard to ensure our island is front and centre in Westminster and on the global stage.
Since the island elected me over 17 Ministers (and a Prime Minister!!) have visited Angle
Living on an island as beautiful as Ynys Môn, we see every day the need to protect our precious wildlife, and the harm that can be done when critical natural ecosystems are disrupted.
Banning the import of hunting trophies from animals listed in annexes A and B of the Wildlife Trade Regulat
In the budget the Chancellor Jeremy Hunt has designated nuclear as green.
This is important; to have new nuclear at Wylfa it is vital the finance is in place.
This is why 𝙄 𝙝𝙖𝙫𝙚 𝙡𝙤𝙗𝙗𝙞𝙚𝙙 the HM Treasury for nuclear to be labelled as green to enable the UK to compete on the global stage for nuclear
