Ynys Môn MP Virginia Crosbie has visited Anglesey and District Feline Support and Rescue to give a shout out for
donations of cat food, fleece blankets and other items to help the centre continue its work.
Virginia met with Vanessa Williams at the facility in Llangefni on Thursday for an update on its work and how it is
coping.
Vanessa and her team of dedicated volunteers look after rescue cats and kittens from Anglesey and Gwynedd and
usually help around 250 a year.
But to continue its work it needs food - wet and dry - cat litter, toys, fleece blankets and money to support vets’ bills
and the upkeep of over 80 cats and kittens each week.
“It was good to catch up with Vanessa whose tireless helping of cats on the island is an inspiration and the reason why
I nominated her for my Hidden Hero award in 2021,” said Virginia.
“But Anglesey and District Feline Support and Rescue is a victim of its own success and it needs support from islanders
to help it with its work.
“If you can spare cat items and even a donation you will be helping Vanessa and her team look after cats and kittens
in need.
“I am happy to give her work a huge shout out because what she does is brilliant and I hope our generous island can
help.”
Vanessa said “Anglesey’s Feline Rescue plays a vital role in rehoming hundreds and hundreds of cats and kittens.
“The best part of the job is finding homes for these beautiful creatures.”
