I am always keen to hear from Councillors and my constituents regarding their local concerns.
I met up with Cllr Douglas Fowlie, Josh Ryznar, Anna Keely and Aileen Marshall recently to see first hand how hard it is to board the train from the Bangor bound platform using a very heavy wooden step that has to be dragged to a different spot every time the train stops.
It is a wide gap and a high reach to get in. In wet or icy conditions someone could fall down the gap to the tracks.
The need for steps can make it particularly difficult for the elderly, vulnerable and disabled to board the train.
Cllr Fowlie will be writing to me with a proposal and to share local ideas for a solution. I very much look forward to receiving his letter and supporting the community in any way I can.
If you have spoken to your local Councillor about a local issue or problem and would like to get me involved - please do drop me a line.
