I dropped into a coffee morning for an island scout who is fundraising to go on a trip to Norway.
I went to Holyhead Scout Hut to say hello and give her support to Aaron Malcolm Tudur Jones.
He is currently undertaking his GCSEs at Ysgol David Hughes in Menai Bridge and has been in the beavers and scouts for ten years.
He is raising money to go to the Roverway - a European event for scouts and guides aged 16 to 22.
The event promotes intercultural learning and exchange, and enables meaningful youth leadership opportunities.
He needs £800 to go on the trip and raised more than £500 at the coffee morning held at the hut. Aaron received £200 from South Stack Ynys Lawd Ltd.
The company saw my Facebook post about Aaron and generously gave the cash.
Dewi Thomas from the firm said: “South Stack Ynys Lawd Ltd Directors got together and decided to donate £200 towards Aaron's fundraiser to attend a Scout event in Norway.
“As a not-for-profit company this is just the type of thing that we are more than happy to donate to.”
I was really pleased to drop in and see Aaron and show my support for a wonderful young man who is a credit to the island's scouts.
He’s certainly on his way to raising the money he needs, especially because of South Stack’s generous donation. If anyone else can help please then do get in touch.
