Today is Anzac day. It marks the anniversary of the first major action by New Zealand and Australian forces during the First World War, landing on the Gallipoli peninsula in Turkey.
It is observed as a day to remember those heroes, and all Australians and New Zealanders, who served and died in all wars, conflicts, and peacekeeping operations.
