Congratulations to the Benllech Melody Makers for putting on a brilliant performance of the Wizard of Oz this week - their 50th production.
Dorothy (Hannah Griffiths) was outstanding as was her dog Toto (Rupert). The Scarecrow (Juliet Berrigan) had some brilliant dance moves and the Cowardly Lion (Ellie Haf Scanlan) had us roaring with laughter in our seats. The Tinman (Steve Blankley) has a lovely singing voice and the crows and trees were hilarious.
Great to see so many young children on stage having a ball and in fantastic costumes and makeup. And as for the Wicked Witch (Caroline Ward) - she was fantastic!
Clearly a lot of hard work went into the play and it is a real community effort.
Thank you for the kind invitation and warm welcome. I enjoyed meeting Suzanna and Eunice the Musical and Technical Directors and Toto (Rupert!) who seemed to be coping admirably with his fame.
Pob lwc - the best of luck to you all for the rest of the performances this week.
The show is on until Saturday and you can purchase tickets by visiting Egerton Estates, Banks Stores, calling 01248 853 263.
Special thanks to David and the team at the Breezehill, Bar and Eatery for letting me live steam my Facebook live with Anglesey Mining so that I could make the performance on time.
