Ynys Môn MP Virginia Crosbie gave blood on Friday at Holyhead Hotspurs Football Club as part of a campaign to get fans to donate.
The Blood, Sweat and Cheers initiative by the Welsh Blood Service is helping to boost supplies.
Virginia sponsors Holyhead Hotspurs, Amlwch Town and Llangefni football clubs on the island and she was delighted to take part in the drive for more pints of blood to save lives.
Every day the Welsh Blood Service needs to collect 350 blood donations for hospitals.
“It was a pleasure to go and do my bit to keep Welsh hospitals stocked up with blood and I commend the campaign to encourage fans to get involved,” said Virginia.
“The need for blood is never ending and we need as many people as possible to come forward. Getting fans, who are so linked into their communities, is a great idea because every pint given has the potential to save up to three lives.”
Anyone aged between 17 and 66 can enrol online and become a donor. More details can be found at: https://www.welsh-blood.org.uk/
