Lightsource bp are planning a 1,200 acre mega solar farm on Anglesey.

‘Môn Solar Farm’ will be their UK flagship solar farm.

The proposed three sites are around Rhosgoch, Llanerchymedd and the Llyn Alaw Reservoir (Site of Special Scientific Interest and a destination for over-wintering birds).

‘Môn Solar Farm’ will produce up to 350MW which is enough renewable energy to power 133,106 homes for a year. To put this into context the new Hinkley C will power six million homes.

This large infrastructure project is a Development of National Significance (DNS) and will therefore be determined by the Welsh Labour Government which has a cooperation agreement with Plaid Cymru.
