The MP for Ynys Môn, Virginia Crosbie, is pleased to invite you to dinner in the company of the High Commissioner for Australia, His Excellency the Honourable George Brandis QC on 18 February.

As a celebration of the UK’s trade and historic ties with Australia, this dinner will highlight the very best produce Wales has to offer in the comfortable surroundings of Braids Bistro at the Holyhead Golf Club.

There will be a raffle and auction on the night with proceeds going to the Anglesey Agricultural Society.

Mr Brandis has had a distinguished career in law and politics in Australia. A barrister by profession, he served as a Senator in the Australian Parliament for 18 years. He was a Minister in the Governments of John Howard, Tony Abbott and Malcolm Turnbull. His ministerial appointments included Minister for the Arts, Attorney-General, Vice-President of the Executive Council and Leader of the Government in the Senate. As Attorney-General, he was responsible for the reform of Australia’s espionage and foreign interference laws, and played a leading role in the introduction of marriage equality in Australia in 2017.  He was appointed the UK’s High Commissioner for Australia in 2018 and has played a key role in the UK-Australia trade deal negotiations.
