Ynys Môn MP Virginia Crosbie has launched a competition to find the island’s Favourite Takeaway as a thank you to an industry that has done so much during the pandemic.
The public are being asked to nominate the outlet that has gone the extra mile to support its customers through Covid.
All those who receive a nomination in the online competition will receive a certificate from Virginia and the champion takeaway will win a certificate signed by the Prime Minister.
“This competition is a bit of fun but it also has a very serious message that we should be thanking our takeaways for all they have done,” said Virginia.
“These have been challenging times when the world has turned upside down and having that knock on the door and getting a delivery of comforting food has been a slice of normality in a less than normal 12 months.
“I don’t think we should underestimate how important that is and what an important job the takeaways and, especially the delivery drivers, have done by staying on the frontline during the lockdowns.”
Islanders can nominate their favourite takeaway by clicking on this link: http://virginiacrosbie.co.uk/anglesey-takeaway-heroes/ The competition closes at midnight on 21 February.
